Skills: CAD Modelling, Design for Manufacture (DfM), Rendering Pipelines.
Overview:
Design of a series of custom keycaps for a mechanical keyboard for a freelance client. The concept I developed used the common "Cherry" keycap structure, and was developed following an existing style guide provided by the client. Numerous colourways were created, including colour gradients and clear options, as well as custom display pieces. The keycaps were then manufactured using a Stratasys J850 PolyJet 3D-Printer, and the ancillary components using FDM on a desktop machine. The client was very pleased with the final outcome.
Renders were completed natively in Autodesk Fusion, with minor cleanup in Adobe Photoshop.
